A fine Scottish 18 carat gold open faced minute repeating keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1880. Frosted gilt ¾ plate movement, ∅ 38 mm, jewelled to the third wheel with screwed gold chatons, lateral English lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring with overcoil, repeating on gongs, slide on the band. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel spade hands. Polished case. Movement signed and numbered, the case with continental gold marks.
