Gold minute repeating full hunter chronograph by Hausmann & Co

An extremely fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating split seconds chronograph keyless lever pocket watch with instantaneous 30 minute register, circa 1910. Frosted gilt ‘Extra’ movement, 36 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, anibal brass Guillaume balance with gold and platinum temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, outermost fifths of a second divisions and Arabic five second numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds at 6, the 30 minute register at 12 and original gold spade hands. Large, heavy plain case, rectangular buttons in the band for the chronograph and split seconds. Dial and cuvette signed, case numbered, movement numbered on the dial plate. Accompanied by the original Hausmann & Co, Roma fitted box with hinged presentation stand and Hausmann & Co certificate with envelope.

This watch is of particularly high quality. The movement is inscribed ‘Extra’, a feature found only on watches with a very high standard of finish, this watch also has a Guillaume balance, a very unusual feature in a watch with a repeating mechanism.
