Gold open faced complicated lever by Audemars Piguet & Co

A very fine and rare Swiss 14 carat gold open faced minute repeating keyless lever pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases made for the German market, circa 1920. Retailed by Felsing, Berlin. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, corrector levers under the bezel. Gold hinged cuvette. Silver dial with luminous 24-hour numerals, inner red painted Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary dials for the months and four-year cycle, days of the week, date and seconds, aperture for the moon phases and original luminous blued steel skeleton hands. Polished case, the back with engraved monogram EE. Dial signed, case numbered.
