Unusual silver repoussé watch by Patek Philippe

A fine, very rare and unusual Swiss sterling silver open faced repoussé keyless lever dress watch in 18th century style, circa 1888. Sold September 19th, 1890. Gilt movement, 15 jewels, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance spring. Hinged silver cuvette, the bezel chased with scrolled decoration, the back repoussé with a scene depicting Venus with Cupid and further ornamental decoration. White enamel dial with printed Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five minute Arabic numerals and original gold Louis XV hands. Solid, Louis XV case. Dial and movement signed, case numbered. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.
