Around 1888 Philibert Jeanbourquin was a pupil of the watchmaking school in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In 1933 the name Jeanbourquin reappears in La Chaux-de-Fonds when a company Marcel Jeanbourquin & Cie esthablished there. In 1986 this company still exists under the name of Lucien Jeanbourquin. One could easily imagine that Marcel and Lucien were descendants of Philibert (son and grandson). Judging from the unbelievable attention to detail and the most elaborate parts of this watch, it is the very fine timepiece of a very capable watchmaker.
