A fine and rare French 18 carat rose gold double-dialled quarter repeating keyless lever pocket watch with moon phases, digital triple date calendar and chronograph, circa 1890. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, visible chronograph work, arbour for driving the calendar protruding from the backplate and geared from the hour wheel beneath the dial. White enamel dial on the front with Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost red fifths of a second divisions calibrated to 300 and gold Louis XV hands, matte pink rear dial beneath the back cover in place of a cuvette, with apertures for the date, day of the week and months, moon phase aperture below, engraved Quantieme above. The case back engine-turned with a vacant central cartouche with foliate border, hand-setting button at 1. Case numbered.
