Four-colour gold open faced verge by Jn. Frs. Ete. Bonnet

A fine Swiss 20 carat four-colour gold verge open faced pocket watch, circa 1770. Hinged, gilt-brass full plate movement with turned conical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endpiece, silver regulation disc. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer dot minute divisions and five-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 4 o’clock and original pierced gilt hands. The case back decorated with a varicoloured gold scene of a seated lady in a garden with a dog and two doves above, outer swag, palmette and flower border, bezel with stiff-leaf decoration. Movement signed.
