Gold open faced verge watch

A Swiss 18K gold painted-on enamel pocket watch, circa 1770. A Louis XV case, the bezel engraved with a repeated pattern, the back with a painted-on enamel scene of a lady being crowned with a garland of flowers, another kneeling before her, chased and engraved laurel and ribbon border. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, Arabic five-minute numerals and gold Louis XV hands. Hinged gilt brass, full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, pierced foliate chased continental type balance cock, polished steel endpiece, silver regulation dial with hand. Movement signed.
