A fine, very large Swiss nickel eight-day keyless lever Goliath watch with triple calendar and moon phases made for the Hispanic market, circa 1900. Retailed by La Esmeralda, Mexico. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, eight-day, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Nickel hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with large Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary dials for seconds, date, days of the week and the months, aperture for the moon phases and original blued steel spade hands. Massive case, polished. Dial signed by the retailer, case and movement numbered. Accompanied by the original La Esmeralda fitted leather-covered case.
