A fine and unusual Swiss 18 carat gold and champlevé enamel open faced quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1810. Hinged gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end piece, repeating on a bell activated by depressing the pendant. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals and original gold skeleton tulip hands. The case band with champlevé enameled geometrical decoration, the back with hinged glazed cover, centred with a champlevé enameled butterfly on an engine turned ground with outer champlevé enameled floral decoration against a black enameled ground. Dial and movement signed.
