A fine and interesting, ornamented American 14 carat multicoloured gold and diamond-set hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1885. Frosted gilt 3/4 plate movement, 5 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel flat balance spring. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds and original blued steel spade hands. Lavishly decorated case with applied foliate motives and scroll pattern, engine-turned case band, front centred by a monogram and the case back by a diamond. Dial and movement signed, case numbered.
