An American 18 carat gold minute repeating hunting cased keyless pocket watch, circa 1885. A solid, polished case, front cover and case back engraved with stylized monograms.Hinged gold cuvette with engraved dedication. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute track with five minute red Arabic markers, sunk subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel spade hands. Rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, Wilmot’s patent micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed.
