A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless lever dress watch, Prince Imperial, made in the 1930s. Rhodium-plated movement, 17 jewels, officially tested in eight ways, a straight-line lever escapement, Rolex patent cap protecting the escapement, monometallic balance with screws and self-compensating Breguet balance spring. Small two-tone champagne-coloured dial at 12 o’clock with painted Arabic hours, an outer minute track and blued steel lozenge hands, subsidiary seconds at 6. The solid, polished case with a round bezel, snap-on case back. Dial, case and movement signed, movement and case numbered.
