A fine Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl-set open faced verge pendant watch, circa 1780. Hinged gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm steel balance, flat balance spring, polished steel end-piece. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic fifteen-minute numerals, original gold spear hands with pierced tips. Louis XVI case, engraved and split-pearl-set bezels, the back with a painted on enamel scene of two young ladies and a gentleman in a pastoral setting.
