Staybrite stainless steel lever with special balance by Paul Ditisheim

A fine, rare and elegant Swiss Staybrite stainless steel open faced keyless lever dress watch with special Ditisheim balance, made in the 1930s. Brushed rhodium-plated movement, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, very rare cut bimetallic compensation balance with brass inserts on the outside, self-compensating Elinvar balance spring with outer terminal curve, patented rack and pinion ‘star’ micrometre regulator. Three-tone matte and polished silver dial with painted black baton hour divisions, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds and original blued steel cathedral hands.  Polished and brushed case, stepped inclined bezel. Case, dial and movement signed, case and movement numbered.
