Deck chronometer made for the French Service Hydrographique by Jaeger

A fine and rare Swiss keyless lever deck chronometer with power reserve made for the French Service Hydrographique in the 1940s. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping and oeil-de-perdrix decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Anibal brass Guillaume balance with gold timing screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan neck micrometer regulator. Off white painted dial with black painted Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, power reserve indication up to 32 hours, and original blued steel spade hands. Black patinated, the dial surround inscribed Marine Service Hydrographique, large winding crown protruding through the plate, two tier wooden box with applied number plaque. Dial and case signed Jaeger, movement signed Vacheron & Constantin.
