A fine Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced cylinder pendant watch, circa 1830. Retailed by Maisons, Boulevard Italien, Paris. Matte gilt movement, Ø 30 mm, Lépine calibre, eight jewels, jewelled cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Hinged gold cuvette. An eccentric silver dial with black Roman hours on a moire chapter ring, outer minute divisions, an engine-turned centre and gold Breguet hands. The case back is decorated with engraved gold flowers and foliage on a black enamel ground, leaf and flower chased bezels, the front is decorated to match. Case and movement numbered, cuvette signed by the retailer.
