Gold open faced quarter repeater

A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating two train pocket watch with an alarm made by Noël Vacheron in Geneva, circa 1830. The matte gilt movement with conical pillars, a fixed going barrel, Maltese cross stopwork to both barrels, cylinder escapement with a steel escape wheel, three armed brass balance, pierced and foliate chased continental type balance cock with a polished steel end piece and silver regulation dial, repeating with two hammers on a bell in the back of the case and the alarm train with a fixed barrel, sounding on the bell with a further hammer. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, an outer minute track, inner alarm divisions, winding apertures for both trains, original gilt lozenge hour and minute hands, and a steel alarm hand. The case with an engine turned back and bezel, a band pierced and engraved with foliage, a wheel on the side of the dial for setting the alarm hand, mastermark HC and a fixed gold cuvette featuring pierced sound holes and engraved flowers. Dial and movement signed.
