Silver and rose gold open faced keyless lever by Vacheron & Constantin

A very fine Swiss silver and rose gold open faced keyless lever pocket watch with unusual dial, circa 1893. Frosted gilt movement, wolf’s tooth winding, 17 jewels, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Hinged silver cuvette engraved with the technical details and F. Martin. White enamel dial with unusual Arabic numerals, outer minute track and red painted Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds and original rose gold spade hands. Polished case, the back applied with a rose gold cartouche engraved 1749 within a laurel wreath border, rose gold hinges. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed, case and movement numbered.
