A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless lever dress watch with an exceptional painted on enamel miniature after Corot’s La Cervara, circa 1963. Retailed by Gübelin. Sold on April 6th, 1973. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance spring, index regulator. Matte silver dial with applied gold faceted baton hour indexes, outer engraved dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds and original gold dauphine hands. Polished case, hinged back decorated with a polychrome enamel miniature depicting a part of the painting La Cervara by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot (1796-1875). Dial, case and movement signed, the dial also signed Gübelin, the enamel signed S. Rohr, 1969, case and movement numbered. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe fitted box and the Extract from the Archives.
