A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold and enamel open faced minute repeating lever pocket watch, circa 1906. Sold on September 18th, 1908 to Visconte Vittorio Turati. Rhodium plated movement, 31 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan neck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette engraved Vittorio Turati beneath a coronet. White enamel with black dauphine numerals hours, outer minute track, red painted Arabic minutes, subsidiary seconds with red 10 second numerals and original gold Louis XV hands. Polished case with polychrome enamel coat-of-arms of Turati beneath a Viscount’s coronet to the back. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed, case numbered. Accompanied by the original initialled box and the Extract from the Archives.
