A fine and unusual French silver keyless cylinder neo baroque lapel watch, circa 1870. Rhodium plated movement, eight jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, cylinder escapement, three arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. White enamel dial with blue Roman numerals within cartouches and original silver fleur de lys hands. The bezels and band chased with stylized foliage, transparent case back under painted with a fleur de lys lattice and central crest, two suspension chains, sculptural lapel fitting with the letter M on a cartouche flanked by winged putti below a plumed helmet.
