An elegant Swiss gilt-silver, enamel and pearl hunting cased keyless pocket watch, by Charles Barbezat-Baillot, in Le Locle, circa 1895. Art Nouveau, quarter repeating pocket watch made for the Chinese market under the trade name Dusty. Repeating by two hammers on two steel gongs, activated by the rectangular push piece located on the case band at 6 o’clock. Green translucent enamel over guilloché cover and case back, with polychrome painting on enamel showing, on the cover, a gentleman helping a lady cross a river, and, on the case back, the portrait of a lady, bezels set with half pearls.

Cream colour enamel dial, with radial Roman numerals, inside cartouche, gilded frames, subsidiary seconds at 6  and blued steel Spade hands. A gilded brass movement, with going barrel, straight line lever escapement, compensated balance and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator, repeater work on the main plate, under the dial. Signature on the dial.
