A rare Dutch silver pair cased astronomical verge watch, circa 1760. Gilt verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, baluster pillars. Silver dial with engraved and blackened arched Roman VI-VI hour sector, outer plain cartouches with engraved and blackened Arabic five minute divisions and arched aperture to the center with rotating silver disc with sun, moon and stars, the lower half of the dial with aperture for date surrounded by a relief scene of classical figures surrounding a globe. Plain inner case, chased outer case with central later enamel scene of a lady and gentleman. Movement signed.
