A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold and enamel open faced verge watch with four colour gold and enamel chatelaine, circa 1830. Gilt finished full plate movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. Case with decorated white and blue enamel bezel, band rimmed with lines of opaque white enamel, back with translucent blue enamel over engine turning with a polychrome scene of children playing in a pastoral landscape, the pendant with opaque light blue and white enamel, stamped ‘CD’ and 725. Dial and movement signed. Accompanied by matching four colour gold and enamel chatelaine.
