An English 18 carat gold hunting cased detent pocket chronometer with eccentric seconds, circa 1856. Gilt finished 3/4 plate movement, Earnshaw type detent escapement, some jewels carried in screwed gold chatons. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and eccentric seconds. Engraved and monogrammed case. Dial and movement signed, case and cuvette stamped with maker’s mark ‘AS’, case with London date letter for 1856.
