An Austrian rose gold, enamel and pearl set lute form verge watch with concealed dial, circa 1840. Hinged gilt-brass verge movement, pierced and engraved balance cock. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, blued steel Breguet hands, concealed beneath a hinged blue guilloché enamel base with white champlevé enamel border. Lute form case with red and green guilloché enamel soundboard with a central painted pink, white, yellow and blue cherub, blue champlevé enamel band to the horn shaped neck enhanced by gold strings, red enamelled push piece and a pearl set bridge. Movement signed.
