A rare German gilt metal two day Marine anker chronometer, circa 1940. Gilt finished full plate lever movement, blued steel helical spring, bi metallic compensation balance marked ‘RGG’ (Richard Griessbach in Glashütte) and with four circular mean time weights and two temperature nuts, top plate with the stamp for A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte. Silvered matte dial with Roman numerals, outer railway minute divisions, subsidiary seconds and arched 35 hours power reserve display. Water resistant type case, screw bezel, gimballed within a two tier wooden box with glazed top, case numbered on the inside, dial and movement signed.
