A rare English silver open faced verge watch with enamel miniature, circa 1720. Gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée, balance cock centred by a painted polychrome enamel portrait depicting a lady holding a flaming heart, finely pierced and engraved scroll decorated balance cock foot. Silver dial with Roman numerals, sunk centre with chased scroll decoration and two cherubs heads in high relief, one blued steel beetle hand for the hours and outer five minute divisions. Plain case. Movement signed and numbered, case numbered.
