Hunting cased repeating keyless lever chronograph by Uhrenfabrik Union

A fine and rare German 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever chronograph watch, circa 1902. 3/4 Plate gilt finished jewelled lever movement, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, bimetallic compensation balance with gold poising screws, gold lever and escape wheel, finely engraved balance cock, swan neck regulator with diamond endstone, minute repeating on two polished steel hammers, glazed dust cover. Gold cuvette with engraved inscription Herrn F. Zschiegner zur Erinnerung gewidmet von Max Ziegra Berlin August 1902. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer fifths of a second and railway minute divisions, gold Louis XV hands, two sunk subsidiary dials for 30 minutes register and constant seconds. Large Lucia case, engraved initials FZ to the front, repeating slide and chronograph button in the band. Case and cuvette signed and numbered and stamped with the ‘portal’ Hallmark, dial signed, movement signed and numbered.
