A fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating watch with jacquemart automaton, circa 1820. Gilt finished full plate movement, verge escapement, engraved and pierced foliate balance cock, plain three armed brass balance, quarter repeating on two gongs. Gilt cuvette. Small annular white enamel dial with Breguet numerals, gilt Breguet hands, skeletonized surround surmounted by a vari-coloured gold scene depicting Diana and Apollo appearing to strike the bells in unison with the quarter repeating. Engine turned case with rope twist band, repeating through the pendant. Case numbered.
