Rose gold, enamel and pearl set clock watch made for the Chinese market

A fine Swiss open faced quarter repeating musical clock watch with automaton made for the Chinese market. Movement, 1830, recased in a 20th Century 18 carat rose gold, enamel and pearl set case in the manner of an 18th Century watch. Mechanical jewelled movement, quarter repeating through the red top enamel pendant. Engine turned gilt dial, polished chapter ring, Roman numerals and center seconds. Polychrome enamel to the case back depicting a port scene with village in the foreground and mountainscape in the back, pearl set rim, band and bezel, case back opened to reveal a polychrome enamel two motion automaton with a lady playing the harp and a another playing the lute, each strumming their instrument, all set within an idyllic scene, music on the hour and on demand, start/stop in the band and lever for on demand in the band.
