A rare American 18 carat gold and enamel hunting cased keyless lever chronograph pocket watch with personalized dial, circa 1881. 3/4 Plate nickel finished Woerd’s Patent jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance. Engraved gold cuvette. White enamel dial, Julio Hidalgo used for numerals, outer calibrated minute track, red Arabic five minute divisions and sunken subsidiary dial. Polished case, polychrome enamel family crest to the back cover, blue enamel JH monogram to the front cover, chronograph operated through a button in the band. Case and movement numbered.
