Gold hunting cased lever watch by Waltham

A fine and rare American 14 carat gold hunting cased keyless lever watch with possibly unique enamel dial, circa 1903. Royal, Model 1899. 3/4 Plate nickel finished straight line lever movement, 17 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance, patented micro-meter regulator. Inscribed gold cuvette. White enamel dial, painted centre zone with Christian and harvest iconography including the eucharist cup, cross and crown, numerals spell REV J. F. Madden and outer minute track with ruby paste five minute divisions. Engine turned case, hinged back, Stamped Gruen. Case, dial and movement signed, case and movement numbered.

According to research the present dial is the only known example. It is assumed the dial was a special order for Reverend Madden.
