A Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set keywound cylinder watch in the form of a lorgnette with concealed dial, circa 1850-1860. Keywound cylinder movement. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, concealed under a spring loaded cover with engraved foliage and black enamel, enhanced with diamond set decoration, opened by sliding a button in the handle. Lorgnette form case with finely chased and engraved floral and foliage decoration to both sides, folded lorgnettes released by sliding a spring catch in the band, gold plate surrounding. Comes with gold chain with gold and black enamel spacer.
