A rare Swiss gold, enamel, pearl and turquoise set hunting cased keywound verge watch, circa 1780. Keywound verge movement, chain fusée. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. Case to the front with a hexagonal cartouche containing a polychrome painted enamel lakeside scene with a sailing vessel, surrounded by a band of pearls and translucent blue enamel, the engraved gold ground with raised foliate scrolls set with turquoise and pearls, the reverse with a polychrome painted enamel scene of a cherub painting upon a canvas within a landscape, the painted cartouche surrounded by a row of undulating pearls and a band of translucent blue enamel, the gold ground with raised foliate scrolls set with turquoise, all within pearl set bezels, band decorated with blue enamel over engine turned ground. Movement signed and numbered, case numbered, dial signed.
