A fine and unusual French gilt, gold and enamel open faced keyless cylinder pendant watch in the form of a cartel clock, circa 1873. Gilt finished jewelled lever movement. Gold and enamel cuvette inscribed in gold enamel Exécuté pour Monsieur Merton par Fre Boucheron Paris, 1873, Honoré Sculpt. White enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and blue enamel centre. Small case, reversing to an openwork case back with Sartyr’s head amidst scrolls, set into an gilt case with classical female mask above, winged female figure on each side. Movement signed.
