A fine and rare Swiss gold, enamel and pearl set open faced quarter repeating musical watch with centre seconds made for the Chinese market, circa 1810. Keywound gilt finished double train movement, cylinder escapement, plain three armed brass balance, quarter repeating on two gongs through the pendant. Gilt hinged cuvette. Gold dial with Roman numerals, translucent blue enamel over engine turned ground centred with an engraved rosette with champlevé enamel, pearl set bezels. Case back with finely painted polychrome enamel scene of a bouquet of flowers against a translucent royal blue enamel over engine turned ground. Movement signed.
