An English 18 carat gold hunting cased keywound lever pocket watch with start and stop mechanism, circa 1850. Full plate gilt finished lever movement, chain fusée, bimetallic compensation balance, metal dust cover. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic five minute divisions, sunken subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel hands. Polished case, plain monogram plaque to the front cover, coin edge band, lever in the band to start and stop watch. Dial and movement signed, case and movement numbered, case stamped J.C. F. & Co.
