A rare and unusual Swiss 18 carat yellow/rose gold and enamel form watch made for the Turkish market, circa 1820. Gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée. White enamel dial with Roman numerals. Nanga form case, translucent green, white and red enamel decorated back over bark finished background, centred by a gold stylised flower, the panels decorated with trophies of music, bark finish decorated gold soundboard pierced with the star and crescent symbols, curved neck with white, green and red geometrical decoration, nine gold strings, snake’s head finial, gold tuning pegs.
