A very fine and rare German gilt brass pair cased presentation verge watch with enamel portrait of the Elector Palatine Johann Wilhelm von Pfalz-Neuburg, circa 1700-1710. Gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée, plain three armed steel balance, blued steel flat balance spring, Egyptian pillars, finely pierced and taille douce engraved foliage and floral decorated foot, finely pierced balance cock with taille douce engraved coat-of-arms of Johann Wilhelm von Pfalz-Neuburg. Finely taille douce engraved gilt brass dial, inlaid black wax Roman numerals, outer 60 minutes indication, single blued steel hand mounted onto a chased gilt brass ring revolving around the central copper plate with the painted polychrome enamel portrait of Johann Wilhelm von Pfalz-Neuburg. Plain circular seven hinge inner case with split bezel, ring pendant, plain circular five hinge outer case. Movement signed.
