A Danish rare and fine quarter repeating gentleman’s pocket watch with stoppable, independent jumping centre seconds, circa 1858.
Polished 18-carat gold, à goutte, signed case with a gold dome, slide for repeating mechanism and lateral slide to stop seconds. White signed enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, jumping centre seconds, auxiliary seconds and blued Breguet hands. Signed bridge movement, rhodium-plated, Geneva stripes decoration, screwed gold chatons, two hammers, two gongs, two barrels, tandem wind with mirror polished click on the top, pink gold train, gold screw compensation balance, blued balance spring, counterpoised lever.

This is a finely constructed and highly complex movement of outstanding beauty: two barrels with intricate locking devices, a rose gold train and last but not least the unusual chatons that are screwed-on at the side, are a feast for the eyes.
