Silver and horn verge pocket watch

A Dutch silver horn covered key wind pocket watch with mock pendulum and sun and moon dial made by H. Langestraat in Rotterdam, circa 1725. The deep fire gilt full plate movement with decorative pierced pillars, fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel set-up between the plates, mock pendulum cock with a decoratively pierced and engraved table, an open semi circular section to reveal the oscillating bob on one arm of the steel balance, and a pierced and engraved foot and plate.

Silver champlevé dial with a minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, a blued steel poker hand, the hours indicated by a silver disc which rotates once every 24 hours, viewed through a semi circular aperture which has the gilt sun engraved on one half and the moon on the other, at the edge of the semi circle the Roman hours are marked from 6 to 12 and back to 6, as the sun disappears at the right of the aperture, the moon appears at the left. The case is covered with horn, and it has a smooth silver pendant and bow.
