A fine Dutch pair cased verge pocket watch with date indicator, circa 1740.
Two cases: outer case – silver, polished with case maker’s punch mark “IL” (Jacob Libert) and large lateral hinge; inner case – silver, polished with case maker’s punch mark “IL”. Silver signed dial, Champlevé, with inlaid radial Roman hours, date window and Louis XV hands. Fine full plate movement, keywind, firegilt and signed, with applied engraved ornaments, chain/fusee, moulded movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, finely engraved and pierced balance bridge.
