Rose gold quarter repeater by David & William Morice
–
An early English 18 carat rose gold open faced quarter repeating pocket chronometer, circa 1805-1825. The watch features a chronometer movement with a very rare Ruby-Duplex escapement, a special chronometer balance, a diamond endstone, and a magnificently engraved cock. It can repeat the hours and quarter hours. The gold dial has Roman numerals, outer minute dots, blue enamelled numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, and blued snake hands. The case is engine-turned and has a ribbed band with the case maker’s mark TW. The movement is signed and numbered, the case is numbered, and both have matching numbers.
