Pocket watch with beautifully decorated plate

An early heavy 18 Carat pair case verge watch, made by Charles Smith in London, England circa 1793. The numbered open faced plain pair case watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with black Roman numerals for the hours and gold hands. The movement has a very fine original silver dust cover with an opening for the magnificent verge bridge and the regulating disc, ‘rabbit’ and ‘snail’ symbols as an indicator for ‘faster’ or ‘slower’, fantastic movement quality with diamond end stone and a beautifully decorated plate.
