Oram & Son was awarded in 1862 for his masterly craftsmanship and ingenuity. Mercer’s ‘Chronometer Makers of the World’ specifically mentions all types of central seconds used in his watches, accordingly, we also have a jumping central second hand with this watch. The factory board leaves only the view of the balance and especially the beautiful, elaborate gear of the two barrels free. On the back above the inscription ‘Semper fidelis’ the raised arm with an archaic nailed club.
