Nicoll
William Nicoll (Junior) worked in Great Portland Street from 1790. He made pocket watches, wall clocks, table clocks, and longcase clocks. He may have been a member of the family of John Nicoll, a clockmaker at 117 Great Portland Street near Oxford Street, which was recorded in 1843. William Nicoll was recorded here in 1832. Therefore, John Nicoll was most likely a son of William.
There were also several clockmakers in Scotland who worked under the name Nicol or Nicoll. Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine whether there are any family connections.
