An early and rare Glashütte half hunting case pocket watch for the English market, circa 1869. 18k gold case, smooth, engraved with family crest and motto, inlaid cobalt blue Roman numerals, gold dome, case maker punch mark “HH”. The dial is enamel, radial Roman numerals, sunk seconds, signed, blued double spade hands. 1/2 plate movement, frosted, gilt, signed, screwed chatons, sterro winding-wheels, gold screw compensation balance, blued hairspring, engraved balance cock, gold lever – and escape wheel, chatoned diamond endstone on balance, ruby endstone on lever and escape wheel.
