–
An English open faced gold pocket watch with polychrome enamel painting, circa 1800. The mechanical movement is key wound, features an anchor escapement, and is signed Turner London on the plate. The enamelled ivory dial includes painted Roman numerals, outer railway minute divisions, and Fleur de Lys hands. The centre of the external case has a miniature oval painted in polychrome enamel, depicting two female figures awakening a Cupid asleep on a guilloche base; the green enamelled case is adorned with friezes in chiselled decoration. The case opens via a push button punctuated with a crowned rose.
